Shu’aibu Usman Leman is stepping up to TheNiche editorial plate with incredible résumé. He was the National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists for more than two decades (November 2002 – April 2024).
Before then, a consummate newsman, Leman was Editor-in-Chief/Managing Director of Bauchi Publishing and Printing Company Nigeria Ltd, publishers of the Trumpeter & Kakaki Newspapers; founding Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Bauchi-based National Digest Magazine; and Editor at the defunct Post Express Newspapers in Lagos.
An activist of outstanding impact, academic and public communications aficionado, Leman is also an author with many publications – Media Ethics and Promotion of Democratic Culture in Nigeria; The Media, Socio-cultural and Political Integration; Thoughts on Policy, the Press and Ethics; Media and Challenges of Sustaining Democratic Government at the 3rd Tier of Government in Nigeria – to his credit.
A member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Federation of African Journalists (FAJ), West Africa Journalists Association (WAJA) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Leman was a media and public communications consultant to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
