Shettima was received by Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Mambé, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, Akpama.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, for the swearing-in of President Alassane Ouattara for his fourth term in office at the country’s Presidential Palace.
This was made known in a recent statement issued to journalists by the Office of the Vice President.

President Ouattara won re-election on October 25th, securing another term in a country that maintains strong diplomatic ties with Nigeria.

According to the statement, the Nigerian Vice President, who is representing President Bola Tinubu at the event, will join other African leaders and international dignitaries at Monday’s inauguration.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Mambé, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy, Itam Akpama, and other senior officials received Shettima upon his arrival in the French-speaking country.
“Nigeria remains committed to supporting sister nations in West Africa and upholding constitutional governance.
“Shettima is expected to reaffirm Nigeria’s dedication to democratic values and to leadership transitions based on constitutional processes,” the statement added.
