Vice President, Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for New York, United States, where he will represent his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media and Communications (Office of The Vice President), Mr Stanley Nkwocha.
The week-long gathering of world leaders is scheduled to hold from tomorrow, Monday, September 22 to Sunday, September 28.

According to Nkwocha, Shettima, while at the world gathering, will deliver Nigeria’s national statement and join other dignitaries at the UN high-level general debates, among other side events.
He further revealed that the vice-president will announce Nigeria’s new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), under the Paris Agreement at this year’s UN special event on climate.
