In a 45 seconds audio, the Boko Haram terrorist network has taken responsibility for the kidnap of more than 300 schoolboys in Katsina state.
The leader of the terrorist organization, Abubakar Shekau, said his brothers in Katsina state carried out the abduction.
“Whoever accepts Islam, we are all brothers. Brothers be patient and persevere. By the Grace of God, whoever refuses God, he would lose whatever that belongs to him, and would also see misfortune. In a nutshell, this work (abduction) that our brothers carried out in Katsina, we are the ones that did it. It’s me speaking Abubakar Shekau, leader of Jama’atu Ahli Suna li da wal jihad. No need for length explanation. This is a message of two minutes or one minute. God is the all-knowing.”
The Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has said that the kidnappers have reached out to his government for negotiation. He did not disclose who they claimed to be and what they said they wanted.
