Shehu Sani tells Kaduna delegates not to expect any money from him

-

Shehu Sani says: “ I will NOT pay any (PDP) delegate to vote for me and no one should pay for me to be voted. I welcome votes based on my agenda for the good people of Kaduna state. We can’t build or develop our country through a dishonest leadership recruitment system.”

Delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kaduna governorship primary will not be getting any money from Shehu Sani, a former senator. He has also warned anyone against bribing the delegates on his behalf.

In a tweet, the Kaduna governorship hopeful says giving money to delegates in exchange for votes in the PDP primary scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 25, is a dishonest way of recruiting leaders. Sani said he expects the delegates to vote for him on the strength of his ideas and programmes, not on how much he has to pay.

The tweet reads: “The Kaduna Governorship Primaries; I will NOT pay any delegate to vote for me and no one should pay for me to be voted. I welcome votes based on my agenda for the good people of Kaduna state. We can’t build or develop our country through a dishonest leadership recruitment system.”

The PDP governorship primary for Kaduna has four top contenders, and every one of them is a formidable force to reckon with.  They include; Mukhtar Yero, former governor of the state; Isa Mohammed Ashiru, 2019 governorship candidate of PDP; a lawyer, Sani Abbas and activist, Shehu Sani.

Shehu Sani is from Kaduna Central and is not so popular there due. He, however, enjoys the support of Kaduna South people who see him as someone that is sympathetic to their situation of being a marginalised group.
