Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has explained why his name was not among the ambassadorial list recently sent to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on the list, which included the likes of former presidential aide and social media influencer, Reno Omokri, and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, the human rights activist argued that he is “too young to be an ambassador.”

The former senator, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, further said he wouldn’t have taken such a position because he still has a lot to deliver to his people in Kaduna State.

While featuring as a guest on an Arise TV programme on Wednesday, Shehu Sani said:“My name has never been on the list for an ambassadorial position.

“I read about a month ago, as a former senator and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs when I was there, that there are procedures for appointment. You have to get a call, submit your CV, go for security screening, and they have to vet you. But never has my name been among them.

“I think I’m too young to be an ambassador. I still have a lot to deliver to my people in Kaduna State.”
