A former Kaduna State Senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, has warned Nigerians against collecting the N8,000 palliative from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu recently got approval for the N500 billion he sought from the National Assembly as palliative for 12 million households worst affected by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani urged Nigerians to pray hard before collecting the N8,000 proposed by the Tinubu-led administration.

He further claimed that those who collected the “jazzed” N10,000 under former President Muhammadu Buhari ended up in poverty.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Sani wrote: “People who collected Buhari’s ‘jazzed’ 10k ended up in deeper poverty. Pray before you collect the next 8k.”

Prior to this, politician and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore had lambasted President Bola Tinubu’s administration after it announced the disbursement of the N8,000 palliative.

Taking to his social media page, Sowore rubbished the idea and described Tinubu’s administration as a government of ‘renewed shege’, arguing that it’s on a mission to sustain the hardship currently felt by Nigerians.

He went on to break down what the palliative amounts to daily and added that the new administration has no respect for the citizens of the country, before calling for a revolution.

He Tweeted: “The govt of #RenewedShege! So, @officialABAT is going to provide palliative of N53 per day for 6 months?

“Jokes carried too far! These guys don’t rate Nigerians! #Revolutionnow.”.
