Nigeria’s stand-up comedian, Oluwaseyitan Lawrence Aletile, better known as Seyi Law, has replied to the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Shehu Abubakar, after he alleged that President Bola Tinubu is a “drug baron” in a post.
Shehu recently labeled the incumbent Nigerian president a drug baron while reacting to a recent remark made by former United States President Donald Trump about Nigeria.

Trump had, while threatening military intervention and cutting off aid from Nigeria over the alleged Christian genocide, branded the nation a “now disgraced country.”
The comment, which trended on X (formerly Twitter) with the hashtag #DisgracedCountry, divided opinion among Nigerians.

While some hailed the comment, others chastised the US president for trying to undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty.
Responding to those who took exception to Trump’s remarks, Shehu said, “Why are some upset that Donald Trump called us disgraceful? When they announced a drug baron as our President, what do you call that? Prideful? I know it hurts our pride as a nation but we have to first look inwards & hold ourselves accountable before we accuse outsiders.”
However, while reacting to this allegation via a post on the same medium, Seyi Law fired back by questioning Atiku Abubakar’s integrity.
He reminded Shehu that his father was indicted of money laundering in the US during the former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime.
“This is coming from someone whose father was called a thief by his principal and indicted as a money launderer in the US. Someone whose father deleted his handler’s tweet about the extra-judicial killing of Deborah. Na really wa,” the comedian stated.
