Sevilla knock Man United out of Europa League

Sevilla advanced to the semi-finals of Europa to face Serie A side, Juventus after scoring three unreplied goals against United

Manchester United were dumped out of the Europa League by La Liga club, Sevilla after they scored three unreplied goals at the Estadio R. Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday night. 

The Spanish side opened the scoring as early as the 8th minute when Youssef En-Nesyri finished following an error from Red Devils captain, Harry Maguire.

Sevilla doubled their advantage in the 47th minute with a looping header from defender Loic Bade. 

The home side put the icing on the cake when En-Nesyri capitalised on another mistake – from goalkeeper David de Gea – to make it 3-0.

Erik ten Hag’s side were well below their best as they played the first of a series of potentially season-defining games.

They next face Brighton at Wembley in an FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday and will play a key Premier League fixture against, north-London side, Tottenham on April 27. 

Sevilla after their comfortable 5.2 aggregate win over United, will now play Juventus in a two-legged semi-final, after the Serie A side edged past Sporting Lisbon in their quarter-final.
