Seun Kuti said he sent the money for the renovation of the cell’s showers, toilet and tiles, which were in bad shape

Popular Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti has claimed that he sent money for the renovation of the police cell he was remanded in at the Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
He made this known in a recent Instagram live session with fans, where he said the money was released after he regained his freedom.
According to the artiste, the fund sent was meant to renovate the cell’s showers, toilet and tiles, which were in bad shape.
Seun Kuti further said outside carrying out the gesture to enhance the convenience of inmates of the cell, he decided to repair it in case he found himself in it once again.

He went on to say fellow singer, Naira Marley who was recently incarcerated over the death of his former signee, Mohbad, will benefit from his charity while in detention.
Taking to his social media page the singer said: “The day I got home Panti cell, I sent money for the renovation of the cell, toilet, showers and tiles.
“If you think I’m lying, go to Panti and verify. I renovated the cell I stayed in because I can go back there tomorrow.
“At least Naira Marley can enjoy my charity there.”
Seun Kuti was detained in a Police facility in Panti, Yaba, Lagos earlier this year after he was captured in a viral video on social media, assaulting a police officer on the popular Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
