Elisha Abbo once called APC a grand fraud

The newest All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Senator Elisha Abbo, representing Adamawa North in the National Assembly, once called his new party a grand fraud.

Abbo defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in what analysts say is a 2023 political realignment.

Abbo defection is barely a week after the governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi, kissed the PDP goodbye to pitch tent with the APC. He claims the motive was in the interest of the South East which was being marginalized in the political schemes of the PDP.

Abbo in his letter to the senate president explained that the reason for his defection was to join the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari in building the ‘Nigeria of our dreams.’

“The journey may be long, but we are on the right track as I strongly believe that by the end of the tenure of Mr. President, Nigeria will be a better place.,” he said.

But not long ago, Abbo once described the APC as a party of grand fraud in a live television interview.

He said: “APC is a grand fraud. Expert liars. They are first class propagandist. They thrive on propaganda. They have spent so much money on media to cover them up.”

Abbo is among the many politicians in Nigeria who say a thing, and do the opposite. This may be the reason a 2018 study conducted by the World Economic Forum shows that Nigerians do not trust their politicians. The study profiled 137 countries and Nigeria ranked as one of the countries that distrusts its political class the most.

@iam_TUNADEZ counseled Nigerians: “Trust ANY politician in Nigeria at your own peril. Imagine a man said all these and now he has joined that same ‘grand fraud’ party.”
