Senate to investigate Queen’s College deaths

-

The death of three female students in Queen’s College, Lagos has sparked a debate in the Senate, as the lawmakers vowed to investigate the incident.

The Upper Chamber condemned the unsanitary and deplorable living conditions of the school, which they said led to the illness of several others.

tsAccording to a laboratory report, at least 1,222 students of the secondary school were treated at the school’s clinic for abdominal pain, fever, vomiting and diarrhea, since the beginning of January 2017.

Speaking during plenary on Tuesday, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, noted that anyone found culpable of criminal negligence in the school would be punished.
