Three candidates in the March 9 governorship election in Oyo state have stepped down for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Oluseyi Makinde.
The governorship candidates are those of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Olufemi Lanlehin, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Sharafadeen Alli and the the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bolaji Ayorinde.
On March 2, the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), former governor Alao Akala stepped down for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Adebayo Adelabu
With the alliances now formed ahead of this Saturday’s governorship poll, the contest has been narrowed down to the APC’s Adelabu and PDP’s Makinde.
