“My sincere apologies to the Igbos for all I’ve tweeted about you guys in the past. I don’t mean any of those things. It usually comes from a place of frustration when your influencers direct derogatory words and insults towards northerners. Let love lead henceforth,” Sarki tweeted.

Pro-North activist and Twitter influencer, Sarki, popularly known by his Twitter handle @Waspapping_, has appealed for crowdfunding to raise ransom for the release of his younger brother, Abdallah.

He apologised to the Igbo: “My sincere apologies to the Igbos for all I’ve tweeted about you guys in the past. I don’t mean any of those things. It usually comes from a place of frustration when your influencers direct derogatory words and insults towards northerners. Let love lead henceforth.”

But Nigerian tweeps are refusing to overlook his past, especially after he tweeted that he should be assisted financially towards paying the ransom demanded for the release of his brother.
