Sanwo-Olu picks Spyro’s ‘”Who’s Your Guy” as his best song after re-election

Sanwo-Olu won 19 of the 20 Local Government Areas in Lagos State, losing only Amuwo Odofin in the gubernatorial election held on Saturday

The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has named his favourite song in a trending video on social media after his re-election for a second term in office.

Sanwo-Olu retained his position as the governor of the state in Saturday, March 18th gubernatorial election after garnering a total of 762,134 votes, defeating Labour Party (LP) Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who polled 312,329 votes.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran better known as Jandor who was initially expected to pose a greater threat came a distant third after securing 62,449 votes.

Sanwo-Olu, won comprehensively, as he won 19 of the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs), losing only Amuwo Odofin, in the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 

Speaking after his victory in a recent video shared on Twitter by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media, Jubril Gawat, Sanwo-Olu picked one of Spyro’s songs as his favourite when asked to name his best song.    

He said; “Right now is, ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Spyro. Oh yes, I’m following up with my people. I love the song,”

After the video made the rounds on social media, netizens trooped to the comment section to air their views, with most of those who commented concluding that the choice of song was apt given what the governor faced during his re-election bid.  

Meanwhile, the candidate of the Labour Party and closest challenger of the governor in the election, Rhodes-Vivour has described the Saturday poll as a sham, indicating he will not congratulate Sanwo-Olu for his victory and that he will do all within his power to retrieve his mandate in court.
