Shehu Sani, former Senator now social critic, has highlighted the supporters of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, popularly called Obidients, are the reason Nigeria has not degenerated into dictatorship.
He said Obidients have become a bone stuck in the neck of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sani, who has been vocal since the February 25 presidential vote, commended Obi’s army of supporters for their huge impact on the polity, according to his Twitter post on Wednesday, per Tribune.
“If you remove the supporters of the Labour Party from Nigeria’s political space, we will all have the peace and tranquility we want and the tyranny we don’t want,” he tweeted.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on March 1 declared Bola Tinubu of the APC winner of the election many Nigerians flag as flawed with violations of the law.
Both Obi and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar are now in court challenging the result.

Sani accuses APC chieftains of providing toxic materials for Tinubu’s critics
Sani earlier in the week accused the APC of allowing its chieftains to throw dirt at Tinubu which was picked up by opponents they now vilify for digging deeper into the character and background of the President-elect.
Sani said it was the APC elite that ferreted out and toxically spread negative things about Tinubu and other APC members in their bid to stop Tinubu from winning the party primary in June 2022.
“Any negative things said about the President-elect was first happily dug out and toxically spread by the elites & chieftains of his party, in their attempts to stop him from winning the primaries.
“Whatever the opposition are saying today came from the tongue of the ruling party,” Sani tweeted on Tuesday.
