Publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah, died Friday, December 11.
Nda-Isaiah, a pharmacist by training, founded the Leadership Newspaper in the early 2000 after maintaining a column with the Daily Trust Newspaper over a long period of time.
Nda-Isaiah, a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari when he was seeking for Nigeria’s presidency, he founded the Buhari Support Organisation, a political movement to help the former head of state actualize his presidential ambition in the 2007 election.
In 2015, Nda-Isiaiah participated in the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as an aspirant along with Buhari. TheNiche had asked him at the time if that would not cause a rift with his old friend, he said no.
He died at the age of 58.
Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar said he received the news of Nda-Isiaiah’s death with shock.
“I am shocked and saddened by the death of the publisher and chairman of @LeadershipNGA, Sam Nda- Isaiah. Sam’s can-do spirit, coupled with his boldness and innovativeness embodied the very best of the #NigerianSpirit. He will be sorely missed.
“My condolences to his family and friends, management and staff of Leadership Newspaper Group, Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria and the Nigerian Union of Journalists. May his memory be a blessing,” he said.
