The Gunners kicks-off their season with the London derby and Mikel Arteta knows how difficult the match will be given the 3-0 trashing his team suffered in the same fixture last season.

However, the North London club will go into the game feeling more confident after a fantastic pre-season, coupled with the new signings, who have given fans a lot to cheer about ahead of the start of the new campaign.

One of the shining lights during the preseason tours, who feels like a new signing even though he was signed 3 years ago, is 21-year-old Willaim Saliba.

As good as Saliba has been, he is yet to donn Arsenal’s jersey in any Premier League (PL) game because Arteta wasn’t convinced that he was ready, but things seem to have changed now.

He was almost flawless in every game that he played in the preseason, and he’s now set to be rewarded for his performances.

The defender didn’t look fazed on a single occasion – not even against Champions League sides like Chelsea and Sevilla.

The report claims Saliba will make his first ever start for Arsenal in the Premier League game against local rivals, Crystal Palace tonight as a reward for stepping up his game.
