Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah, has once again revealed that he and his club’s management are “far away” from agreeing a new deal.
He made this known while speaking to Sky Sports after helping the Reds beat West Ham 5-0 on Sunday night.
The Egypt international scored one goal and set up two others at the London Stadium, as Arne Slot’s side moved eight points clear at the top of the English Premier League (EPL).
With the feat, Salah is now top among EPL players for both goals and assists this season, with 17 and 13 respectively.
However, his future remains uncertain as he enters the final six months of his contract.
When asked if he was any closer to sharing a positive update on a new deal, Salah said: “We are far away from that. I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really has moved on. Now I am focused on the team and hopefully, we win the Premier League.”

Also speaking on the elusive Ballon d’Or, after he was left out of the 30-man nominee list this year, Salah insisted that he is not obsessed with winning the next edition of the award.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian is being touted as a strong contender for the award next year, following a strong start to the current campaign.
Speaking on his quest to win the Ballon d’Or next year, Salah said: “The only thing in my mind is for Liverpool to win the Premier League.”
If the 32-year-old wins the award next year, he will become the third Premier League player to take it home after Cristiano Ronaldo and Rodri.
