Rotary harps on more service to humanity

The Rotary Club of Festac Central (District 9110, Nigeria) has emphasised the need for more service to immediate communities in particular and humanity in general, in order to ensure a better world.

 

 

The club promised to intensify community service in the 2014/2015 Rotarian year and maintained that the best any individual can do to have fulfilment in life is to extend goodwill to others, especially those in need.

The clarion call came at the fund raising and installation ceremony of the second Rotarian President, Modupe Ogunsanya, where some individuals were honoured for outstanding contributions to society.

 

Ogunsanya, who promised to continue in the tradition of her predecessor, Anthonia Agugoesi, disclosed that the club has earmarked many projects this year and urged well-meaning people to identify with the club.

“I promise to serve the members and the immediate communities diligently and my service will be built on the work of Anthonia,” she pledged.

 

Projects executed by the club include teachers’ training in information communications technology (ICT), cervical and prostate cancer screening, revolving loan to widows, vocational training empowerment, and donation of power generating set to the Children and Adolescents Neuro Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos.

 

Those honoured are Data-point Microsystems Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer, Lucky Uduikhue; Ben Gee Industries MD/CEO, Boniface Orizu; and Austin Ejikeme Ilodibe Properties CEO, Aku Ilodibe.

 

First Registrars Nigeria MD/CEO, Bayo Olugbem; Player Sports Management Groups Norway Chief Scout, Udia Attai; and Lagos State House of Assembly member, Ramotalahi Olarenwanju.
