Former Manchester United striker, Rooney has singled out Arsenal defender, Myles Lewis-Skelly for praise after the Gunners thrashed La Liga giants, Real Madrid in the first leg of UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-final played at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Arsenal won the highly anticipated encounter 3-0 to the surprise of football fans and pundits, who had predicted a tough night for the North London club.

Although a brace from Declan Rice’s two free-kicks and Mikel Merino’s goal gave Arsenal the first leg advantage over the Los Blancos, Lewis-Skelly was equally impressive during the match.
Speaking after the game, Man United legend, Rooney heaped praise on Lewis-Skelly, insisting that the England international caused Real Madrid problems.

He went on to say that the young defender played with no fear against the Champions League holders.
“I think he played with no fear, right from the start,” Rooney said on Amazon Prime.
“He was causing Real Madrid problems. He was creating an overload in midfield coming into that position and for a young lad to play at this level – it can be intimidating and nerve-wracking – but he played with full confidence and full belief.
“I’m really pleased for him because it’s been a big season for him, coming into the team, making his debut for England and then producing that performance against Real Madrid tonight. He’s passed a big test.”
Following the impressive victory, Arsenal will now prepare to face Real Madrid in the return leg next Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
