Ronaldo and Varane were team-mates at La Liga club, Real Madrid and Premier League outfit, Manchester United

Al Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to French international, Raphael Varane after he decided to hang his boots.
Varane after a fulfilling career on Wednesday, announced his retirement from football.
The former Real Madrid defender took the decision after an injury-plagued stint at newly promoted Serie A side, Como.
In all he made 480 club appearances across a 14-year career that saw him win the Champions League four times with Real, as well as earning 93 caps for France and lifting the 2018 World Cup.

Varane in a lengthy Instagram message which revealed his plans for the future wrote, “They say all good things must come to an end.”
He added, “A new life begins off the pitch. I will remain with Como. Just without using my boots and shin pads. Something I am looking forward to sharing more about soon.”
Reacting to the trending post, Ronaldo who was Varane’s team-mates at Real Madrid and Manchester United eulogized him saying: “A great career and a football legend! Congratulations for everything brother, hope to see you soon.”
