Ronaldo appeared to knock a mobile phone out of the hands of a  supporter, in the aftermath of Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Everton in April.

Footage that made the rounds on social media after the encounter revealed the 37-year-old Portuguese appeared to have smashed a phone out of a young fan’s hand as he left the pitch and headed towards the tunnel.

Ronaldo was cautioned by police regarding the incident in August and later issued an apology to 14- year-old Jacob Harding on his Instagram account, admitting his emotions after such a damaging result had got the better of him.

However, despite showing remorse, he has now been charged for the incident by the English FA but United have announced they will be supporting their star player in response to the charge.
