Rita Lori-Ogbebor accuses Wike of land grabbing in Abuja, urges Tinubu to probe him

By Ishaya Ibrahim

Niger Delta leader, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, has accused the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of land grabbing, urging President Bola Tinubu to probe him.

The Niger Delta woman leader made the allegation after the confiscation of her late husband’s property by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) headed by Wike.

The property belongs to late Col. Paul Ogbebor, husband of the Niger Delta woman leader, Lori-Ogbebor.

She lamented that her husband’s sweat was about to be taken away by Wike and handed over to one Chinda, according to her investigations at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

She further claimed that CAC documents indicated that the company now claiming ownership of her husband’s property belongs to a three-term House of Representatives member, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, Wike’s kinsman and political ally, who represents Obio/Akpor Constituency in the Federal House of Representative. She claimed the lawmaker is a proxy for the minister.

She made the disclosure during an interview on Arise News on Wednesday.

According to Chief Lori-Ogbebor, her husband, who died during the COVID-19 pandemic, legally acquired the land when his company, Paulson Nigeria Limited worked on the sewage of Abuja after it became the Federal Capital Territory. At the time, she said there were no structures, hence, all landowners were given temporary title certificates.

According to Chief Lori-Ogbebor, several efforts to acquire a certificate of occupancy were in the works, with N10 million paid to FCTA until Wike was appointed as minister.

In November, the FCTA served quit notice to the property owners claiming they were occupying the land illegally.

Chief-Lori Ogbebo faulted the claim, alleging it is a land grabbing scheme of the minister.
