Rio 2016: Adebutu pledges support for Wheelchair basketball

A member Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Remo Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Ladi Adebutu Kessignton has pledged financial commitment to the Nigeria wheelchair Basketball team qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball team will in September participate at the Olympics qualifier holding in Algeria.

As a result of this, the businessman cum politician whose love for special athletes know no bound at a meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation (NWBF) promised to support the team participate in the qualifier and urged them to ensure that they pick the Olympic ticket for the country.

 

He informed that he has seen the success of the federation for a while hence his decision to contribute his quota to the success of the team in its quest to making the country proud.

He said: ”it will be joy of every Nigerians to see your team at the Olympics and as such we want you to go to Algeria and pick the Olympic ticket where I believe you will also make the country proud.

 

Confirming this to our correspondent the President, NWBF, Bukola Olopade having expressed appreciation to the philanthropist assured that the players will pick the Olympics ticket for the wheelchair basketball event in Algeria during the qualifier, stressing that the team is undergoing serious training and that the e federation will not leave any stone unturned to achieve success.

 

He said: ”We thank the honorable for his kind support to the federation and most importantly for associating with the special sports athletes, which shows that he is truly the man of the people and lover of sport.
