Ify also claimed the outcome of Lagos guber election does not represent the wishes of the majority of peaceful Lagosians

Dr. Ify Aniebo Rhodes-Vivour, wife of the Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State in the last governorship polls, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has slammed those attacking her husband for his inability to speak Yoruba language fluently.
The British-Nigerian molecular geneticist with a special focus on malaria drug resistance also labelled such individuals as “bigots”.
Incumbent governor of Lagos and the All Progressives Party (APC) candidate in the March 18 guber election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu defeated Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of LP, who came a distant second in the contest, but the election was allegedly marred by voters suppression.
In a Twitter post on Friday, Ify called out those who pointed out her husband’s inability to speak Yoruba language and labelled them “bigots”.
She also wondered if they would have said the same thing, if they were to receive medical attention from doctors and other medical practitioners who don’t speak their languages.
She tweeted: “This is for the Nigerian bigots who say they cannot vote for a man because he doesn’t speak their language.
“I hope you maintain the same energy by receiving medical care only from doctors/surgeons who speak your language.”

Ify also condemned the violence witnessed during the gubernatorial poll and noted some people lost their lives.
She went on to say elections have consequences and once big set a precedent, they have no control over how people react.
Rejecting the election outcome, Rhodes-Vivour alleged “collusion” between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and electoral officials.
“The results do not represent the wishes of the majority of peaceful Lagosians…results from our agents and situation room indicated we won,” she claimed
The tweet has since hit 2 million views as early as Saturday morning and attracted hundreds of mixed reactions.
