Resumption of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial sees both FG and IPOB leader engage new legal teams

In a significant development preceding the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on charges of treasonable felony, both the prosecution and defence have undergone reshuffling of their legal teams.

Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) has assumed the helm of the prosecuting team, replacing David Kaswe, a lawyer from the Federal Ministry of Justice. On the other hand, the defence team is now under the leadership of P. A. M. Ejiofor, who has taken over from Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

The anticipation surrounding Kanu’s appearance in court today, as he remains in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), reached a crescendo as preparations for the trial commenced.
