Reminisce compares fame to indulging in ‘hard drug’

Reminisce, however, said he handles fame with the mindset that nobody is his friend

Nigerian singer, rapper, songwriter, and actor, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, better known as Reminisce, has likened fame to indulging in “hard drug”.

He made this known recently while featuring on popular radio station, Naija FM, Lagos.

Speaking during the interview, the ‘Alaga Ibile’ crooner, noted that fame could be intoxicating.

“Fame is a hard drug. It’s very intoxicating,” Reminisce said during the chat. 

On how he handles fame, the rapper said he works with the mindset that nobody is his friend, adding that he sees fellow singers and thespians as colleagues and not friends.

He went on to state that seeing people as colleagues and not friends helps him in lowering expectations from them.

Reminisce recorded his first song in a studio in 2006 and recorded a rap album at Coded Tunes, but the album was never released as he decided to focus on his studies and finish schooling.

 In 2008, he returned to the music scene, performing a rap verse on a track titled “Bachelor’s Life” off 9ice’s second album titled “Gongo Aso”.

His first single, “Ever Since”, featured 9ice, and was a story about his life till that moment.

He later released his  second, “If Only”, which was a love song produced by Dtunez.
