Rema dreams of collaborating with two top American singers

Rema beat Wizkid, Davido and others to emerge the first winner of the newly created “Best Afrobeats Song”

Afrobeats singer, rapper and songwriter, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has expressed his wish to work with two American music superstars.

He made this known recently, during an interview with Hollywood Reporter at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards held in the prestigious Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, United States.

According to Rema, he would like to collaborate with two American female celebrities, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.

This is coming after the 23-year-old Benin-born singer had a successful smash-hit with Selena Gomez, in the remix of his song ‘Calm Down.’

Speaking during the chat, Rema said: “I’m hoping to meet Meg (Thee Stallion), Nicki Minaj for possible collaborations. Who else? Yeah, I wanna link up with girls dem.”

Meanwhile, during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards emerged as the first-ever winner of the newly created “Best Afrobeats Song” beating the likes of Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy in the process.

After the Nigerian was declared the winner of the award, Selena Gomez who featured in the song ‘Calm Down’ with him sent her love to Nigerians.
