Release TikToker SeaKing, Pastor Adeboye tells police

By Jeffrey Agbo

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called for the release of TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as SeaKing, who is currently in police custody.

Speaking at the RCCG February Holy Ghost Service held at the 3km by 3km auditorium in Simawa, Ogun State on Friday night, Adeboye expressed surprise at the arrest, urging authorities to release the social media personality.

“I heard that there was someone who lambasted me thoroughly because I asked my people to fast and pray for 100 days. I did not ask him to fast. I was only talking to my children. I was told that some people are so angry and they went and arrested him. Haaa, release him. He is fulfilling prophecy,” Adeboye said.

The cleric reminded his congregation that God had foretold an increase in mockery and criticism in the year’s prophecies. According to him, SeaKing’s remarks were merely part of the fulfilment of divine predictions.

SeaKing was arrested in December 2024 after a video in which he criticised President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun went viral. He was subsequently arraigned on charges of treason, cyberstalking and conduct likely to incite public disorder.

A magistrate’s court later granted him bail set at ₦500,000, with a requirement for two sureties in the same sum.
