Chelsea boss, Graham Potter after the match, said his team played well, but also admitted the red card and the penalty changed the complexion of the game.

He said, “Overall, we played well, It was important to get the goal and the penalty and red card changes the complexion of the game.

“We started to make the ten men count, which I think we did quite well. Overall, we’re delighted with the three points, the clean sheet, and to score two goals too.”

However, the win might have come at a cost, as English right back, Reece James picked up a knock during the crucial encounter.

He went down midway through the second half with an issue sustained to his knee and while he carried on, he shortly had to be taken off.

With a busy fixture schedule and hopes of a World Cup place for the defender, the injury could be a concern while they wait on the outcome.

But James has since picking up the injury put a hopeful message on social media, assuring Chelsea fans that the injury he sustained is not a bad one.

He tweeted, “Fingers crossed it’s not a bad one. Love for all the messages, I appreciate you all.”

His manager, Potter had earlier said the club will know more in the next two days, but until then, there will continue to be concerns surrounding the fitness of a player so pivotal to Chelsea.
