A branch of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), the City of David Parish, has given singles a platform to meet and date by launching an online Christian dating site.

This was made known by the Parish Pastor, Idowu Iluyomade, at an interactive forum recently.

Iluyomade said the dating site was created to encourage mature singles who are yet to marry to interact and find their life partners.

He added that information provided by individuals will be screened and approved before a prospective user, male or female, can be admitted on the platform.

TheNiche newspaper, also gathered that those interested will go through an independent background check before they are allowed to connect with another prospective user on the platform.

The site, however,  has a disclaimer that absolves the church from being sued for damages incurred in the process of using the online dating site.

It reads in part: “Every registrant must conduct his or her independent background check before connecting with another registrant on this platform.

“The Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish makes no representations or warranties and expressly disclaims any ananylity concerning any damages sustained by any registrant as a result of connecting with anyone on this platform.”

The move by RCCG has received some applause and knocks on social media, while some users felt it was a step in the right direction, others said it was not a venture a church should embark on.
