Punch Chairman, Wale Aboderin, dies at 60

The Chairman of Punch newspapersGbadebowale Aboderin has died. He died on Wednesday, May 30, at 6.05 am after a brief ailment.

Gbadebowale died after a heart surgery at the First Cardiology Consultants, Ikoyi, Lagos.

After the surgery he went into coma for six days, and was said to have come out of coma about three days ago and even started talking.

He was 60.

When he was alive, he was also Chairman of Punch Commercial Printing Limited and Lukahed Properties Limited.

Gbadeowale attended the Government College, Ibadan and trained as a pilot in the United States.

A lover of sports and a philanthropist, he was the founder and chairman of the Dolphins Female  Basketball Foundation,as well as a former chairman of the Lagos State Basketball Association.

He was once the vice-president of the Nigerian Basketball Supporters Club.

He is survived by his wife, Titilayo, and children.

With Wale’s death, all the Aboderin sons are no more.

Wunmi, her sister went to pick Wale’s corpse from the hospital yesterday.
