Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly demanded a significant discount on the €130 million release clause set by Napoli for Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen. The French giants are also open to including one or two players in the deal to secure the forward.
According to multiple Italian sources, Osimhen’s agent has been in Paris over the past few days, working to finalize the transfer. Napoli is eager to resolve the issue swiftly, especially with new coach Antonio Conte expressing interest in reuniting with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, a leading Italian tabloid, reported that Napoli sports director Mauro Meluso has resumed talks with PSG. Club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen to strike a deal.

With no English Premier League clubs stepping forward to acquire Osimhen, PSG appears to be the most viable option. Coach Luis Enrique has identified Osimhen as the best replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who recently moved to Real Madrid.
The Italian newspaper stated, “The path is set: PSG-Osi is no longer a suggestion; it is the only possible destination for Victor and his desire for the Champions League.”
In related news, Osimhen was notably absent from Napoli’s recent friendly match against local side Anaune Val di Non. This match marked Antonio Conte’s first game as Napoli coach as part of their pre-season preparations in Dimaro. Initially listed on the bench, it was later revealed that Osimhen was in the stands, with the club noting that he has been training separately due to fitness issues and is “not at the disposal” of Conte.
These developments are linked to ongoing negotiations with PSG. Napoli hopes to finalize a deal within the next 10 days and may be willing to lower the asking price to just over €100 million.
