French champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Friday confirmed that top winger, Ousmane Dembele sustained a hamstring injury during Tuesday’s Champions League win over Arsenal.
This was disclosed via a statement issued by PSG ahead of their UCL semi-final second leg tie against the North London club next week.
The French Ligue 1 outfit, however, noted that the striker is currently undergoing treatment and “progressing well”.
“Ousmane Dembele has strained his right hamstring.
“His condition is progressing well. A further assessment will be carried out shortly.” a statement on the club’s official website read.
PSG already have one foot in the Champions League final after emerging from the first leg with a narrow 1-0 victory against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
Dembele scored the only goal on the night for Luis Enrique’s side.
PSG will host Arsenal in the return leg at Parc des Prince in Paris on Wednesday, April 7.
Prior to the announcement, PSG boss, Luis Enrique had confirmed that Dembele is a doubt for the return leg in Paris.
“It’s nothing serious, it’s quite minor, but there is a doubt for the return match,” the Spaniard said at his post-match interview.
