TheNiche had earlier reported that controversial internet activist and influencer, VeryDarkMan recently alleged that Bobrisky bragged that he bribed officials of the EFCC with N15 million to drop money laundering charge against him.

In a now-viral audio recording he leaked on social media, Bobrisky, who was sentenced to a four-month jail term in April 2024 over mutilation of Naira also claimed he spent his jail term in a private apartment close to the Lagos correctional centre and not the prison.

He went on to state that singer, Falz contacted him about obtaining a presidential pardon for him through his father, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, for N10 million.

Following the controversy generated by the audio recording, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, announced the suspension of Anugwa and another senior correction officer, Sikiru Adekunle, who were in charge of the Maximum-Security Custodial Centre.
