The English Premier League (EPL) has
condemned the horrific and brutal war going on between Israel and Palestinian Islamist group, Hamas.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Hamas on Saturday, October 7, launched the biggest attack on Israel in years, killing over a thousand people and wounding hundreds in a surprise assault that combined gunmen crossing into Israel with a barrage of rockets fired from Gaza.

Israel then responded devastatingly, as they declared war and launched total military warfare in the Gaza region of Palestine.

According to reports from some humanitarian bodies, the war had already claimed over 2,300 lives on both sides.

The English league body also called for a cease-fire, while commiserating with communities that were affected by the war.

It read: “The Premier League is shocked and saddened by the escalating crisis in Israel and Gaza, and strongly condemns the horrific and brutal acts of violence against innocent civilians.

“We hope for peace, and our heartfelt sympathies are with the victims, their families and the communities impacted.”

Meanwhile, the English Football League has also announced that a period of silence will be observed across fixtures in League One and League Two this weekend.
