Portable also advised them to ensure they are audible, praise God, focus on reality and sing songs with words of wisdom

Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter, Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, aka Portable, has criticised his colleagues, Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known as Ruger and Daniel Benson better known as BNXN or Buju, for making women the sole focus of their songs.

The “Am Not a Prisoner” crooner also advised the two Afrobeats singers to ensure that their songs are very audible to their listeners, focus on reality, contain words of wisdom and that they should once in a while sing to praise God.

Portable gave the advice in a now-viral video, where he was seen telling the singers to come and learn the act of singing from him.

He went on to berate music awards organisers for finding Ruger and BNXN worthy of awards, when it was very clear that they lacked good lyrical content.

The 29-year-old also argued that there are many artistes, who can sing better than the duo.

Taking to his Instagram page, Portable said, “You no sabi sing make we talk truth. Make una help me tell Ruger and Buju [BNXN] make them come learn music from Dr Zeh [himself] hand.

“Them no sabi sing o. All those music wey dem dey sing, we no dey hear wettin dem dey talk well well. No be say we no dey hear English o, their wordings no dey comot.

“Make dem come learn music. No be to dey sing for woman, woman, woman, woman…And dem go carry award give them. Can’t you praise God? Can’t you talk reality things? Can’t you say wise wordings?”
