Nigerian singer, Portable said he loves Kenya girls because they danced to his songs despite not understanding his language

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has asked Kenyans to forgive him after posting a video they deemed disrespectful.
In a video on Sunday, which has now been deleted, Portable, who is currently on a musical tour in the East African country and his crew, taunted and embarrassed a Kenyan lady after he rejected a hookup proposal from her.
In the video, Portable is heard telling the lady: “We are not here for ‘hook up’. You can go!”

After the “Zazoo” singer uploaded the video on social media, a Kenyan radio presenter, Maureen Imbai, popularly known as Black Cinderella, took exception to his actions and clapped back at him on Monday, saying he didn’t just ’embarrass’ the lady in question but the entire country
Black Cinderella said: “We all love your music but Portable zukwanuike (calm down). What you are doing in our country is embarrassing Kenya worldwide,” she wrote.
“We support your rubbish but not what you are doing to Kenyan girls and posting it online. The video Portable posted last night is not just embarrassing. It is an insult to us Kenyan girls.
“No matter how you feel Kenyans are cheap or quiet when you overstay your welcome, we will throw you outside our country without mercy.
“The people that brought Portable into Kenya, I’m ashamed of you. Your business was to bring an artist to perform and make his money and leave.
“But daily, we are seeing the misuse of our girls, live abuse of drugs, and so many more disgusting videos online.”
She continued: “Find me the girl he embarrassed to file a complaint about the public humiliation. She will get not less than 2000 USD.
“Worst of all, since you came to Kenya, you’re the first celebrity that have not visited our national parks or even the giraffe center or any tourism attraction sites and showcase Kenya.
“Meaning that as a foreigner, you are useless. You came to benefit from our country then you start to misbehave.”
A lot of Kenyans from all walks of life have also taken to social media to condemn Portable’s action and demand an unreserved apology from the rising singer.
Reacting to the backlash, a few hours later, Portable posted another video on Instagram where he apologised to Kenyans, speaking in Yoruba, his local dialect
“We are not here for hook-up. Stop asking men for money before sleeping with you. A man’s plan for you might be much more than what you charge.
“I’m sorry for everything. I only find the video funny, that’s all. I love Kenya girls because even without hearing my language, they keep dancing to my songs and keep showing love.” he said in the video.
