Kogi state police command disclosed that it rescued two people from kidnappers and arrested two suspects for cattle rustling
The spokesman of Kogi State Police Command, DSP William Aya, said police officers in the state rescued two people kidnapped along the Ajaokuta-Itobe road in the state.
The police PRO made this known while briefing newsmen Monday in Lokoja, the state capital.
“On December 18, 2021, at about 1600hrs, we received a tip-off that some armed hoodlums had blocked the express road between NEPA and ASCOL bump inward Itobe-Ajaokuta road, shooting sporadically to scare motorists to carry out their nefarious crime.

“The operatives promptly swung into action, raced to the scene and engaged the hoodlums but they all escaped into the bush and in the process, they rescued two victims unhurt. Efforts are on for possible apprehension of the hoodlums,” he said.
In a related development, police officers attached to Enjema division in Kogi East have arrested two persons, Mohammed Alhaji and Amadu Sule Juji, who specialised in cattle rustling.
“The police promptly swung into action through intelligence-led operations and arrested the suspects at Ogboji in Ankpa Area and recovered 14 cows.
“Suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation,” Aya added.
