Spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known by his stage name Portable, will face prosecution over what he described as ‘unruly behaviour’ towards some police officers who stormed his bar to arrest him following his refusal to honour previous invitations.
The police had confirmed that the singer was invited for questioning following a petition written against him by a fellow singer.
The complainant had claimed that Portable stormed his studio, got some people to beat him up and then locked up his studio.
The Ogun state police command said several invitations were sent to Portable but he dismissed them all, hence the decision of the police to storm his bar and effect his arrest.
Portable however resisted the arrest.
In a statement released on March 29, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, condemned Portable’s conduct and said the police will investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity committed, depending on the severity of the offence.
