Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has described the heated argument between Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke over who will take a penalty kick in their Premier League encounter against Everton at the Stamford Bridge on Monday as a “shameful” act.
The Blues ran riot on the night, putting six goals past Jordan Pickford in Everton’s goal.
Despite the annihilation of the visitors, the highpoint of the game was the moment three Chelsea players bickered over who would take a spot kick, which Palmer eventually took to net his fourth goal and put Chelsea 5-0 in front.
As Conor Gallagher gave the ball to Palmer, Madueke and Jackson tried to snatch it off the 21-year-old, resulting in ugly scenes in front of the home crowd.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino told Sky Sports that the actions of the two players who tried to take the ball away from Palmer were unacceptable.

He went on to say that the former Manchester City player is the penalty taker for the team and that it’s his prerogative to give it to someone else.
The Argentine tactician said: “It’s a shame, it’s a shame.
“We cannot behave in this way. I told them that this is the last time that [I will] accept this type of behaviour.
“I made clear today to the fans and to everyone that Cole Palmer is the [penalty] taker.
“If Palmer wants to give the ball to another then he can, but not in this way.
“That is a really, really sad situation that happened, and I’m not going to accept that happening again.”
