Sevilla head coach Luis García Plaza has admitted that Super Eagles striker Akor Adams is key to the La Liga club’s fight for survival.
He made this known during an interview with the club’s website following Los Rojiblancos’ crucial league victory.
Sevilla defeated Atlético Madrid 2-1 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium on Saturday night, ending a three-game losing streak in La Liga.
With the win, Plaza’s men moved up to 15th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone.

In the vital victory, Adams opened the scoring for Sevilla by converting a penalty in the 10th minute of the encounter.
The Nigeria international is currently the Spanish outfit’s top scorer in La Liga this season, with eight goals from 26 appearances.
Speaking after the game, Plaza expressed his belief that the 26-year-old striker remains vital for the team.
He said: “Akor still has more to give us because he’s capable; Rubén [gave everything] until his energy ran out… The academy players have to give us that extra energy, but everyone is important.”
