Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Muftwang and Senator representing Plateau North, Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang have congratulated Barrister Ibrahim Pam as he assumes office as chairman, World Bank Inspection Panel.
Ibrahim Pam, the first Nigerian to be elected into that position, assumed office on November 17 after the expiration of the tenure of the Briton, Mark Goldsmith.
Governor Muftwang, in a statement by Gyang Bere, his director of Press and Public Affairs said Ibrahim Pam has made Plateau people proud.
The Governor described Barr. Pam’s appointment as a testament to his exemplary track record of integrity, professionalism, and exceptional service on the global stage.
He lauded Barr. Pam’s outstanding contributions during his tenure as Chairman of the Ad Hoc External Panel on Workplace Culture for the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which solidified his reputation as a principled and visionary leader.
The Governor noted that Barr. Pam’s life is a beacon of inspiration, marked by steadfast dedication to justice, humility, and commitment to fostering a society free from crime.
He commended Pam’s remarkable efforts in advancing socio-economic transformation and community-driven initiatives that empower individuals and promote self-reliance.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, strength, and wisdom as Pam embarks on the noble task. He expressed confidence that his leadership will bring lasting positive impacts to global development.
Also, the senator representing Plateau North, Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang eulogized Barr. Ibrahim Pam for his steadfastness and dedication to duty; two selling points he says led to his recent election as Chairman of the World Bank Inspection Panel.
Senator Dachungyang while congratulating Barr. Pam for being the first Nigerian to attain that position noted that once again, Barr. Pam has put Plateau North and the entire State on the global map considering his outstanding work at the International Court of Justice in the Hague and the United Nations.
The lawmaker, in a statement by Eric Dung, his SA (Media) noted that “I am aware that the Panel is saddled with the responsibility of assessing whether or not the Bank has complied with its Internal policies and procedures designed to safeguard people and the environment; I have no doubt in my mind that our son will deliver on this all important assignment”.
He explained that Barr. Pam’s rich intellectual background as an accomplished international lawyer, analyst and investigator with strong leadership experience will come in handy to dispassionately assess complaints from people and communities who believe that they have been, or are likely to be, adversely affected by a World Bank funded project.
The Distinguished Senator therefore prays to God to give Barr. Pam and his team have the wisdom to carry out this all important assignment.
