British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has argued that former Man United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo would have helped Arsenal clinch the Premier League title this season had the north London club signed him in the January transfer window.

Arsenal, after leading the Premier League for months, are currently second on the table, 4 points adrift of Manchester City in first, with just 2 games to play

Ronaldo on the other hand, had a dramatic exit from Old Trafford a few months ago after falling out with United boss, Erik ten Hag following a controversial interview he granted Piers Morgan.

The 38-year-old joined Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr, where he has managed to score 12 goals from 13 matches since the move.

In a tweet shared via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, Piers Morgan, a passionate Arsenal fan, said Ronaldo, with his goal-scoring prowess at crucial times and his knowledge of how to win major trophies, would have ensured the Gunners win the league this season after almost 2 decades.

He wrote: “ “Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left United, until the end of the season – as he was keen to do btw – we would have won the League.

“He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters.”

Man City need just three points from their remaining three matches to be crowned champions of the English Premier League for the third time in a row after leapfrogging Arsenal.

The Citizens will also win a treble this season, if they win the elusive Champions League trophy and brush aside local rivals, Man United in the final of the FA Cup.
