Ace English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and media personality, Piers Morgan, has berated Millwall goalkeeper, Liam Roberts following his reckless tackle on Crystal Palace’s French forward, Jean-Philippe Mateta during their FA Cup tie on Saturday.
As Mateta chased a pass from a teammate, he ended up being crashed into by Roberts, who came flying out of his goal.

While Robert was shown a straight red card, the tackle left Mateta stretchered off the field.
The Frenchman, as TheNiche later confirmed, is currently at the hospital and is set to undergo an ear surgery.
In his absence, however, Crystal Palace went on to win the clash 3-1 and progressed to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Reacting to the incident on social media, Morgan described the tackle as a “shameless” one.
He went on to say the tackle, which happened in the 8th minute of the encounter, was the “worst he has ever seen in football.”
He wrote: ”Worst ‘tackle’ I’ve ever seen in football. Absolutely shameful assault on Jean-Philippe Mateta by Millwall’s goalkeeper Liam Roberts. He was sent off, but if he did that to someone in the street he’d be jailed.’’
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace Chairman, Steve Parish, has expressed his anger over ‘reckless challenge’ on Mateta.
Parish was disgusted with Roberts’ challenge on Mateta, claiming the latter could have been killed.
