Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 7 winner and Nollywood actress, Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna has claimed she lost 17 brand deals due to social media controversies.

She made this known while speaking about the impact of social media on her life since she won BBNaija in 2022 and subsequently became famous.

Phyna in an interview on Doyin’s Corner, narrated how one of the brands rejected her and tagged her as an ‘abuser’ after some bloggers reported that she slapped her ex-boyfriend, Groovy for signing a deal that was meant for both of them.

Speaking during the chat, she said: “Two weeks ago, my manager and I did a calculation of how many deals I lost from last year till now. We counted 17 deals.

“A big brand told me that the reason for not working with me is because I’m an abuser.

“They said they can’t work with an abuser, and this was coming at the period that bloggers accused me of slapping someone.”

Prior to the interview, Phyna had clapped back at a hair vendor, DBeauty Mogul, who called her out for refusing to return a “rented” wig.

Responding to the accusation, the reality star initially denied it, but later admitted renting the wig in a video she shared via her social media page, where she insisted that the hair vendor rejected the wig when she returned it.

She went on to say she decided to keep it because the damage the hair vendor did to her was more than the price of the wig.

A few days later, however, Phyna, while briefing her fans on the incident, said the vendor came to her house with some police officers who invited her to their station.
