Phyna attracts netizens’ scorn for changing her mind, after saying her husband doesn’t have to be rich

BBNaija alum Phyna (Josephine Ijeoma Otabor) seems to have changed her mind about her class of suitors by advising single ladies to not settle for broke men after once pitching that her husband does not have to be rich.

Phyna, now a reality star, urged fellow ladies to get married to rich men or strive to make their own money.

“Las las marry who get money oooh Or you try get money ooooh as a woman. E get why. (Ready for the drags),” she posted on Twitter.

Netizens slammed her “insensitive” advice, with some speculating her latest take on money was influenced by the flamboyant display of wealth in the wedding ceremony between Davido and Chioma on June 25, dubbed CHIVIDO 2024.

Davido is a billionaire singer son of a billionaire and Chioma – a graduate like Davido – is a professional chef and entrepreneur.

Phyna, who is single, had disclosed in February that “When it comes to my ideal partner, I don’t even want your money. As long as you love me, you care for me. Don’t worry, I will handle my financial needs.”

Reactions on Facebook show that a few folks did not mind Phyna’s U-turn, but most stressed that having to “marry right” is far more important.
