Peterside urges Buhari to run a mental test on his aides

A former chief executive officer of IBTC Chartered Bank PLC, Atedo Peterside, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to run a mental test on his aides to determine who among them mean well for his government.

Peterside, an economist and investment banker said for the president to end bad governance in Nigeria, he should subject his aides to the old trick smart leaders use to check sycophants in their team.

He said via his verified Twitter handle: “President Buhari should try an old trick applied by a few leaders in history; he should deliberately do and/or say the wrong thing and watch how many of his team will rush out and defend the indefensible. Those are the ones he should not trust #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”

But @gospel_Rx replied Peterside: “Sir, you overestimate the capabilities of Buhari. As @farooqkperogi has maintained many times, the man is largely unaware of his surrounding and he doesn’t know what those guys are doing. When last did you see him talk in person coherently? How can his wife be awol for months?”

@Uwemna_Uwemna also said: “He won’t do it. And even if he has the presence of mind to do it and they line up to defend him, he will still trust them. You know why? He rewards failure.”

@codshalom77 argued: Unfortunately sir, Buhari may not really be concerned about whatever is happening in Nigeria. These same people may not even be telling him the truth, and since he doesn’t step out of Aso Rock any more, it makes it all the more difficult for him to see anything!”

@basquiatpapi also said: “What if, just what if Sir, he knows who they are and maybe, just maybe they play a role for him? It’s hard to think you can be surrounded by such people and not figure it out.”
