Afrobeats singer and one half of P-Square band, Peter Okoye, has refuted song theft allegation levelled against him by his twin brother and former bandmate, Paul.
He made the rebuttal recently via a post he shared on his official Instagram page.
It all started when Paul went online and accuse his twin brother, Peter and their former producer, Vampire, of stealing his song.
According to him, his song titled ‘Winning,’ which was supposed to be a track in his album next year, was released by his brother with the help of their producer.
Taking to his social media page, He wrote, “Song title: Winning.
“Written and sang by Rudeboy. Produced by same producer.
“Now how come? Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr Producer, your case is for another day.
“Just a simple thing: Bring 6 songs, let me bring 6 songs. I Submitted 6 songs to the so-called management. Why re-singing my own song? word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year, June.”
In a follow up post, Paul threatened to release the original version of any song of his that was replicated.
“The days of manipulation are over!!
“And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version. Music is not that hard!,” he added.
Reacting to the allegation, Peter claimed that the song was co-written and composed by himself and Calypso60.
He went on to say it was impossible for him to steal his own song as claimed by his twin brother.
He further urged Paul to allow him to focus on making music and stop the “negativity”.
He wrote, “Person no dey thief him own Property! It is well! Thank you, @iam_vampire_official, for the clarification.
“For the record, ‘Winning’ was written and composed by @calypso60music and myself. Produced by @iam_vampire_official and co-produced by @goldswarm.
“They all deserve their Credit. And I appreciate them.
“Just As I said in my open letter three months ago, ‘Allow me to do my music in peace.’
“Now that I have a new single out, please allow me to enjoy my new single, WINNING, in peace. Enough of the negativity!
‘Winning’ is out on all music platforms; continue streaming and don’t get distracted. Love y’all, peace.”
